Abstract:
Experiments were conducted on different℃ treatments of temperature (140℃, 160℃, 180℃ and 200℃) and duration(1, 3 and 5hours) onPinus massoniana wood from 40-year stand in Fujian province. The result demonstrated that equilibrium moisture content and mass loss rate ofspecimen decreased with increase of temperature and duration. Basic, air-dry, dry density of specimen treated at 140℃had no obvious changes withduration of treatment, but decreased with duration and at 160℃, 180℃ and 200℃. Bending strength(MOR) and modulus of elasticity(MOE)ofspecimendecreased gradually with temperature and duration of treatment. The experiment concluded that the optimal technology for better physicaland mechanical properties of P. massoniana wood by high temperature hydro-thermal treatment was 160℃for 3hours.
