Abstract:
During April and May 2020, pollen of 16 cultivars of Paeonia×suffruticosa was collected from Luoyang, Henan province to determine soluble sugar and soluble protein content, as well as superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD) and catalase (CAT) activities of pollen stored under different temperatures. The results showed that there were significant differences among cultivars with different flowering stages, and the mid-flowering cultivars were dominant in soluble protein and the late-flowering ones in soluble sugar content. The soluble protein content of the mid-flowering cultivar P.×suffruticosa‘Roufurong’ was the highest, 1.35 mg/g and the late-flowering one P.×suffruticosa‘Wudazhou’ was the highest, 74.19 mg/g. After 24 hours of storage under different temperatures, the antioxidant enzyme activities of each cultivar were different. The activities of SOD and POD enzymes in most cultivars increased gradually with the decrease of temperature, while the change trend of CAT enzyme activity was more complex. SOD and POD activities of most cultivars were Relative higher at 4 ℃.
