Abstract:
In July 2022, 14 sample plots of 10 m×10 m were established in cultivated
Metasequoia glyptostroboides areas with its seedlings in Simingshan National Forest Park in Ningbo, Zhejiang province. Tally was carried out on seedlings of each quadrat and investigation was made on species and number of arbor, shrub and herb. The results showed that the climate of the Forest Park were highly similar to that of the origin of
M. glyptostroboides, and the cultivated
M. glyptostroboides had better growth performance and could regenerate naturally. The height and ground diameter growth of naturally regenerated
M. glyptostroboides seedlings showed exponential growth model, and the relationship between them was linear, indicating the growth “slowly first and then fast”. In the sample plot, the number of naturally regenerated
M. glyptostroboides seedlings was large, and population age class structure was complete, showing a growth population with large number of young and small number of old, and its survival curve was Deevey-II.
