Abstract:
Nowadays, the problem that most of the artificial
Cunninghamia lanceolata forests in Zhejiang Province are short of long-term management results in phenomena such as the degradation of ecosystem and low productivity, the decline of ecological function. Accordingly, the current research focus is how to increase the stand volume, enhance the ability of carbon storage, improve the landscape and promote the regional forest ecosystem restoration through artificial intervention. As one way of artificial intervention, forest gap regulation can significantly promote the biodiversity and the structural complexity of forest ecosystem, then increase forest productivity and carbon sinks by means of changing forest structure and diverse micro-environmental conditions. Based on the status quo of artificial
C. lanceolata forest mentioned in the above, the impact of the different gap regulations on the regeneration, stability, productivity of forest and ecological function was illustrated, including the spatial and temporal changes of community structure, biodiversity and regional habitat heterogeneity and their key role in forest ecosystem function, which is of assistance to evaluate the effect and orientation of forest ecosystem caused by gap regulation. Reasonable forest gap and its protection can enhance the health and stability of forest ecosystem, and is with the help of promoting function of forest ecosystem as well.
