Abstract:
The dimidiate pixel model was employed to estimate the vegetation coverage on the basis of Landsat remote sensing data and land use data, with the spatiotemporal change characteristics of vegetation coverage in Lushui City from 2000 to 2022 analyzed. By integrating DEM data, the topographic differentiation characteristics of vegetation coverage were also examined. The results showed that(1) over the 23 years, vegetation coverage in Lushui City was overall increased and dominated by high and low vegetation coverage. Variations in vegetation coverage were mainly stable; (2) the area of vegetation improvement was larger than that of vegetation degradation. Areas of vegetation degradation were concentrated at elevations of 738~1 900 m and >3 000 ~ 3600 m, slopes of 0~25°, the topographic relief of 0~40 m, and eastern, southeastern, southern, and southwestern aspects. The results of this study contribute to the master of the spatial distribution and change characteristics of vegetation coverage in Lushui City and provide a theoretical basis and practical reference for forestry management and ecological restoration project layout in Lushui City.
