Abstract: Investigation was carried out on examined greenways in terms of their distribution, length, types, greenbelt and their main tree species, material of pavement in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province from October to December 2021. The result demonstrated that there were 4 503 km greenway, with 8 types. Challenges need to be faced such as planning, standards, quality, land and finance. Further development strategies were provided including systematic planning, people oriented, ecological, cultural and local conditions.
