Principles and operation of laser ranging was introduced,for improving efficiency of forest resources monitoring and accuracy of tree traits. Instance analysis of tree height and DBH was verified.The results showed that compared with traditional measurement methods, raser ranging had advantages of higher accuracy and much more effective for measurement.
