Optimization of Technology for Extraction of Quercetin from Needles of Pinus massoniana

  • Quercetin from needles of Pinus massoniana collected from Hezhou of Guangxi in February 2016 was extracted by ethanol. Single factorexperiments were conducted for selection of ethanol concentration, extraction time, extraction temperature and material to liquid ratio. Orthogonaltests were implemented with ethanol concentration of 60%, 70% and 80%, extraction temperature of 60℃, 70℃ and 80℃, extraction time of 90minutes, 120 minutes and 150 minutes, material to liquid ratio of 1:15, 1:20, 1:25. The result demonstrated that the best test technology for extractionof quercetin was as follows: material to liquid ratio of 1:20 (g:mL), extraction temperature of 60℃ for 90 minutes,with 70% ethanol concentration.The extract rate of quercetin was 2.649%.
