Investigation and Analysis on Flower Border in West Lake Scenic Area

A field investigation was conducted on 79 flower borders in West Lake Scenic Area during April to September of 2017. The result showedthat there were flower borders at forest margin, flower borders at roadside, flower borders against wall, flowers border in lawn, flower borders bywaterfront, flower borders on rock, among them, flower border at roadside had the most. There were 228 species of plant belong to 172 genera and 74families, dominated by Gramineae,Compositae,Liliaceae and Labiatae. More new types and cultivars of plants were applied at flower borders, suchas Wansong Academy flower border focused in shade plants and Tomb of Wu Song flower border in pines and cypresses.
