Cone and Seed Characters of 58-yearPinusmassonianain Cangwu

Cones were harvested from 58-year Pinusmassonia at seed orchard in Cangwu of Guangxi in November of 2016.The measurement was carried out on DBH of harvested 30 mother trees, fresh cone weight, cone length, cone width, thousand seed mass, germination rate and germination energy.The result demonstrated that `mean DBH was 58.87cm, mean conemass, length widthwas14.09g, 48.95mm and 24.11mm.The average thousand seed mass, germination rate and energy was 8.36g, 70% and 45% respectively.There wasextremely significant differenceof cone and seed charactersamong mother trees.Correlation analysis showed that there was evident positive relation among cone mass, length and width, as well as between germination rate and energy.Principle component and cluster analysis indicated that tested mother trees could beclassified into five groups.
