Effect of Hydrothermal Treatment on Color of PinusmassonianaWood

  • 40-yearPinusmassonianatree wasfelled from Nanping of Fujian province. Specimens were hydrothermally treated for 1, 3 and 5 hours at 140℃,160℃,180℃and 200℃with saturated steam. Theresult demonstrated that the color of specimens gradually changed from yellow to dark brown, value of luminance decreased,chromatic aberration increased. Chromatic aberration of specimens had relation with cellulose, hemicellulose and acid-insoluble lignin. The experiment showed that temperature had much more effect on color of specimens than treatment duration.
