Experimenton Overwintering Method for IntroducedFicusreligiosainPutuoshan Island

  • One hundred 4-year Ficusreligiosa seedlings were introduced from Longhai of Fujian province in Putuoshan Island of Zhejiang in November of 2015 for experiment of overwintering. Seedlings were treatedin the current year byanti-freezing cover, plastic greenhouse, glasshouse and control group.The results of next year investigation showed that frost damage of seedlings was orderedby control>anti-freezing cover > plastic greenhouse> glasshouse. Overwintering experiment on the same seedlings in the second year showed that the survival ratewas 100% under different treatments, but the frost damage wasdifferent. Experiment on overwintering in glasshouse was carried out of different provenances of 2-year and 6-yearF.religiosaseedling inPutuoshan Island in 2016. The result demonstrated thatlarger seedlings and from higher latitude had higher survival rate and better growth.
