Design of A Vertical Activating Furnace for Activated Carbon Production by Steam Activation Method

  • High alumina refractory bricks, high temperature resistant and corrosion resistant 310S stainless steel were selected for design of a vertical furnace of production of activated carbon with water steam activation and automatic and constant speed feeding and discharging. The gas burners for preheating furnace were set around the activation section in the activating furnace. The annular steam pipe is set on the disc for carbon activating, and small holes could evenly open on the steam pipe to make the steam and the carbon material contact evenly and make use of the heat of the activation furnace to preheat the steam to ensure the activation of the steam and the raw materials to be uniform and efficient. The activating furnace has the advantages of small floor area; automatic and continuous feeding and discharging and higher activated carbon yield.
