Genetic Variation and Excellent Family Selection of Cerasus campanulata

  • Field collections of seeds of Cerasus campanulata were implemented during April and May of 2013 in 10 counties of Fujian province.62 families of seeds were sowed in July and August of the current year in Longyou and Kaihua of Zhejiang province, and planted in January of 2014.In December 2019, investigation was made on their height and DBH.The results showed that different families of C.campanulata had good growth, with high coefficient of variation of tree height and DBH.The variation coefficients of tree height and DBH were 8.20%-27.34% and 8.90%-36.10% in Kaihua, 6.93%-25.44% and 10.39%-31.77% in Longyou. There were significant differences in growth traits among families, plantation places, families×plantation places and families×repeats(P< 0.01).The growth traits of the tested families were controlled by medium genetic intensity at the family level.Single tree narrow heritability of height and DBH was 0.333, 0.337 and 0.466, 0.303 respectively at Kaihua and Longyou.Early selection could obtain higher genetic gain.Experiment of the two plantations resulted that 6 families were selected by DBH growth.
