Research Progress on Resistance of Ornamental Crabapple in China

  • Ornamental crabapple, species of Malus or Chaenomeles of Rosaceae, includes common species of M. microMalus, C. speciosa, M. halliana in China, and introduced species or cultivars from abroad naming as North American Begonia. Reviews were made on researches of low temperature, drought, high temperature salt and alkali stress on crabapple and disease resistance. Propositions were put forwarded in the future research such as molecular mechanism of stress resistance.
