Physiological and Psychological Response of Perilla frutescens to human health

Abstract
On 12th-14th June 2020, 26 volunteers with mean age of 24±1.57 years were selected for experiment of sniffing potted Perilla frutescens ina room for half an hour. Physiological parameters were assessed by brain waves and blood pressure, and psychological parameters were assessed bythe profile of mood states. The results showed that alpha waves increased, beta and theta waves decreased, systolic pressure decreased significantly,and total mood disturbance of volunteers decreased after sniffing. Besides, about 81% of the volunteers agreed that sniffing P. frutescens had positiveeffects on themselves.
