Experiment on Extraction of Residual Camellia Oil from Pressed Seed Cake

  • Experiments were conducted on extraction of residual oil from pressed Camellia oleifera seed cake by n-hexane. Single factor and orthogonal tests were implemented for better oil extraction rate with different extraction temperature, ratio of solid-liquid and extraction duration. The result showed that the optimal extraction condition was with extraction temperature of 40℃, ratio of solid-liquid of 1:3, and extraction duration of 1 hour. Under the best condition, camellia oil extraction rate was up to 91.22%.
