Monitoring of Animals and Birds by Infrared Camera in Wangdongyang Alpine Wetland Nature Reserve

  • During May 2016 and October 2017, 20 infrared cameras were installed in Wangdongyang Alpine Wetland Nature Reserve of Jingning, Zhejiang province to monitor animals and birds. The result showed 24 species of birds and animals belonging to 8 orders and 16 families were captured. Among them, 20 species are in the Oriental realm, accounting for 83.33%, and 4 species in the Palaearctic realm, accounting for 16.67%. The distribution type was dominated by the eastern and southern China (83.33%). 7 species of animals and birds are under the first and second grade national protection. First grade national protection included Tragopan caboti, Syrmaticus ellioti, Muntiacus crinifrons and second grade national protection Macaca mulatta, Naemorhedus sumatraensis, Lophura nycthemera, Pucrasia macrolopha.
