Abstract
In July 2020, determinations were carried out on ground diameter, crown width, height, root system depth of planted at different positions on mountain horizontal belt in Songyang, Zhejiang province. Meanwhile, soil of 20-40cm was sampled under T. grandis ‘Merrillii’. The result demonstrated that the root system depth, crown width, height, ground diameter and conservation rate of T. grandis ‘Merrillii’ planted in the outer side of the belt were 188.4%, 93.8%, 61.7%, 57.3%, and 5.3% higher than those in the inner side, and the years for production were 34.8% lower, showing that the outer side was better than the middle, and the middle was better than the inner side for plantation. Analysis on soil physiochemical properties at different planting positions showed that it had significantly correlation (P<0.01). The thickness of soil layer, soil organic matter content had significantly positive relation with growth of T. grandis ‘Merrillii’, while soil moisture content, bulk density was the opposite.
