Current Situation and Spatial Distribution Patterns of Natural Protected Areas in Hangzhou

During March to December 2020, information database was established based on list, quantity, level, geographic coordinates and boundary of natural protected area in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province. Spatial distribution pattern of the protected area was analyzed by ArcGIS technology. The results showed that there were 87 protected areas in Hangzhou, with area of 3447.86 km2 (including overlapping area), accounting for 20.46% of the total area of the city. 50 protected areas in Fuyang District, Tonglu County, Jiande City and Chun'an County accounted for 80.52% of the total protected ones. There were 858.99 km2 area of various protected areas overlapped, and mainly in scenic and historical areas and forest parks, with areas of 831.87 km2. There were 612.65 km2 in protected area had difficulty of commercial forest and permanent basic farmland, accounting for 40.90% and 18.61% of the total land use types.
