Overview on Pilot National Wetland Park System in China

Based on the approval materials of pilot national wetland parks from 2005 to 2022 in China, preliminary analysis was made on the approval and acceptance during the pilot system stage. The results showed that the system development could be divided into four stages, exploratory period, normative period, peak period and transformation period. The spatial distribution of approvals of pilot national wetland park was western (39.82%) >central (38.27) > eastern (21.90%), the number of acceptance and acceptance rate was central (39.27%) > western (38.57%) > eastern (22.16%) and central (81.40%) > eastern (81.03%) > western (76.82%). The average time for construction of wetland parks to the acceptance was 5.19 year, and the second acceptance peak would be in 2023 or 2024. The next period would be the cross-development of the pilot system and the promotion system.
