Current Situation and Prevention and Control of Naturalized Plants in Important Wetlands in Zhejiang Province

  • From May to September 2021, investigations were conducted on species composition, life form, origin, naturalization path, risk and naturalization rate of naturalized plants in 33 important wetlands with 8 typical habitats such as coastal marsh, tidal flat, plain lake, rocky coast etc. in Zhejiang province. The results showed that there were 108 species belonging to 32 families and 71 genera. Asteraceae, Poaceae and Fabaceae accounted for 23.15%, 17.59% and 7.41% of the total one. The herbaceous plants occupied 98.15%, dominated by annuals and biennials. Most plants originated from America, accounting for 64.81%, 23.15% from Asia and 19.44% from Europe, and 2.78% from Africa and Oceania. 42.59% of naturalized plants were introduced, mainly for ornamental, ecological restoration and greening, and 57.41% were unintentionally introduced. Serious, moderate and mild risk of the plants accounted for 25.00%, 31.48% and 43.52% of the total. 96.3 naturalized plants occupy and cover local plants. Yuhuan Xuanmenwan National Wetland Park had the highest naturalized rate (23.6%), Longyou Lucong Lake Provincial Wetland Park the lowest (0).The mean naturalized rate of coastal marshes was the highest (20.89%), and that of mountain marshes was the lowest (4.22%). Prevention and control measures were put forward to perfect laws and regulations, implement source prevention and control, strengthen inspection and quarantine, innovate control techniques, and strengthen science extension and education.
