Study on Adaptability of 6 Peach Cultivars Introduced in the Southwest Zhejiang

  • In February 2019, 2-year grafting seedlings of 6 Prunus persica cultivars namely P. persica‘Zhongtao Jinyang’, P. persica‘Zhongpan 11’, P. persica‘Zhongpan 9’, P. persica‘Zhongpan 7’, P. persica‘Zhongyou 8’and P. persica‘Zhongyou 21’were introduced from Zhengzhou of Henan province to Suichang of Zhejiang province. In October 2019 and 2020, determinations were conducted on ground diameter, tree height, crown width, fruit yield and quality. Observation was made on phenophase of seedlings in Suichang. The result showed that growth of P. persica‘Zhongpan 11’ was the lowest of the six cultivars. The yield of P. persica‘Zhongyou 8’was the lowest, 3.68 kg. The experiment demonstrated that the growth and yield of tested seedlings had reached the standards of “Technical Regulations for Rapid and Efficient Cultivation of Peach Trees”. It indicated that 6 introduced cultivars could adapt to the habitat in southwest of Zhejiang. There were extremely significant differences in individual fruit yield among different cultivars. P. persica‘Zhongyou 21’, P. persica‘Zhongpan 11’and P. persica‘Zhongpan 7’had individual fruit yield ≥5.49 kg, 49.18% higher than P. persica‘Zhongyou 8’, with advantages of large and red fruit, soluble solid content ≥11.4%, edible rate ≥93.9%.
