Statistical Analysis on Bird Specimens in National Wetland Museum of China

The bird specimens collected in National Wetland Museum of China were checked and analyzed in terms of species composition, ecological types, geographical distribution patterns, protected and endangered species. The results showed there were 198 species of bird specimens distributed in China belonging to 112 genera, 43 families and 19 orders. Wading and swimming birds had the most species with 75 species and 66 species. Paleo-northern species had 123 species of distribution, the largest. There were 80 species in the list of national wildlife for protection. 26 threatened species were listed in the red list of ICUN.
