Comparison of the Grafting Effect of Rootstock and Scion Combination of Different Main Camellia oleifera Varieties in Jiangxi Province

  • In order to select stock varieties suitable for growth in Jiangxi Province and with excellent grafting affinity, ‘Ganwu 2’and ‘Changlin 4’, the main Camellia oleifera cultivars in Jiangxi Province, were used as scions, and six stock varieties were grafted by bud seedling rootstock grafting, and the survival rate, seedling height, ground diameter, leaf number, branch number and other indexes of different treatments were determined, and the growth of grafted seedlings was comprehensively evaluated by the membership function method. The results showed that the rootstock combinations of the scions ‘Ganwu 2’ and ‘Changlin 4’, the growth and development of grafted seedlings with ‘Gan 60’ and Camellia drupifera Lour as rootstocks were better, with one-year survival rates of 94.08% and 82.09%, respectively. the height and diameter growth of the seedlings in the following year were 16.54 cm, 19.24 cm, 0.43 mm, and 1.08 mm, respectively. the number of leaves in the one-year seedlings was 8.57 and 7.14 pieces per plant, and the number of branches in the two-year seedlings was 1.82 branches and 3.1 branches per plant, while the growth and development of grafted seedlings of Changlin 53 stock were poor, survival rate of less than 72%.The above research results can provide theoretical guidance for the scientific cultivation of grafted C. oleifera seedlings in Jiangxi Province.
