Development and Mechanism Analysis of Forestry Mechanization in Zhejiang’s Characteristic Forestry Industry

  • Forestry mechanization has become a critical means of improving production efficiency, reducing costs and promoting sustainable development in global forestry. Advancing forestry mechanization is of strategic importance to China, a major forestry nation. Depending on abundant bamboo forests, oil-tea camellia forests and other distinctive forestry resources along with strong economic development, Zhejiang Province holds a leading position in forestry mechanization nationwide. Systematic review of the development of forestry mechanization in Zhejiang Province is presented first in this paper, the mechanization models are summarized, including ones of afforestation, bamboo production, floriculture and nursery stock, oil-tea camellia cultivation, and economic forest fruit production, etc. which are almost across each segment of distinctive forestry industry chains, key mechanism factors such as institutional support, talent guarantee and collaborative innovation are analyzed thoroughly, with the aim of providing instructive reference for the development of nationwide forestry mechanization.
