Construction of Evaluation System for Geo-Landscape Resources Such as Forest Landscapes and Their Protection and Utilization

  • Geo-landscape resources are characterized by regionality, stability, historical and cultural value and aesthetic value, etc. However, challenges remain in their protection and utilization, such as insufficient protection, lack of zoning control, and inadequate exploration of their intrinsic value. Building upon the achievements of local departments of land resources, tourism, and forestry, this study took 3 712 geo-landscape resource units within forest landscape-rich areas identified in the 2018 forest landscape resource survey of Zhejiang Province as the research subject. With reference to relevant standards such as the Implementation Rules for the Investigation and Evaluation of Forest Landscape Resources in Zhejiang Province, the study analyzed and assessed these resource units in terms of their abundance, quality and spatial distribution. Results showed that the quantities of different types of geo-landscape resources in Zhejiang Province varied significantly, with rock landform landscape resources having a greater advantage. There were also distinct differences in the quality of different types of geo-landscape resources, the quality of rock landforms being the most prominent. Among the regions studied, advantages of the resource abundance and quality in Wenzhou, Hangzhou, Lishui, Taizhou, Jinhua, and Quzhou were the most significant. Through qualitative and quantitative evaluation of geo-landscape resources across Zhejiang Province, the corresponding suggestions are proposed for protection and utilization of geo-landscape resources.
