Abstract
Hot water extraction of Phyllostachys heterocycla cv. pubescens culm was performed at different temperature(130℃, 150℃ and 170℃) with different duration(60, 90 and 120 minutes). X- ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy ( FTIR) analysis on treated culms and control(untreated culm) showed that hot water extraction did not change the structure of crystalline region of cellulose. Relative crystallinity increased at first and then decreased with the increase of strictness factor(S0). FTIR analysis demonstrated that hydroxyl groups decreased after treatment, and kept decrease with increase of S0 rise, while carbonyl decreased, but increased with S0
