  • Bacteriostasis circle trials were conducted on different concentrations (100%, 50%, 20%, 12.5% and 10%) of bamboo vinegar on bacterial fruit blotch by Acidovorax avenae subsp. citrulli of Cucumis melo var. melo with sterile water and 0.5mg/mL of streptomycin as control. The results showed that concentration of bamboo vinegar had positive effect on inhibition zone diameter. It had 35.17mm inhibition zone of 100% of bamboo vinegar, 9.13mm of 10%. Infected C. melo var. meloboo seeds soaking by 20% and 12.5% of bamboo vinegar and control demonstrated that germination rate of the later one was better, the same as the control(0.5mg/mL of streptomycin). Seeds treated by 12.5% bamboo vinegar had the best seedling growth.
