Effect of Different Nitrogen Amount on Growth and Fruit Setting of Potted Ilex verticillata ‘Oosterwijk’

  • Experiments were conducted on applying 0, 50, 100, 150 and 300mg/kg of N fertilizer in 2-year potted Ilex verticillata ‘Oosterwijk’ in 2014. Determination demonstrated that branch length, leaf length and width of bearing branch, leaf length and width of nutritive branch, leaf number of bearing branch, fruit diameter, diameter of stem, branching number and unit length fruit number increased with N amount from 0 to 150 mg/kg, while nutritive branch length and leaf number decreased. But under N300, unit length fruit number, length of bearing branch, leaf number of bearing branch were lower than under N150. The experiment resulted that the optimal fertilizer amount was 150mg/kg.
