Analysis on Strategy for Forest Ecological Security in China by SWOT

Analysis was made on strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of current forest ecological security in China. The result demonstrated that forest area and growing stock increased, management mode was gradually "standardized" and forest ecological security tended to be positive. But challenges existed such as uneven distribution of forest land, low quality of forest, fragile ecological function and shortage of ecological products. Countermeasures were proposed like strengthening silviculture, afforestation, forest protection and standardizing the utilization of forest resources, developing forestry industry, improving management mode and development system of forest resources, implementing healthy ecological tourism, and more researches.
